Qualifications for donation
Hollywood Casino Toledo believes in giving back and investing in the neighborhoods where we live and work. Through the Giving program, our team members are proud to donate to local 501(c)3 organizations by board participation, volunteerism, and in-kind and financial donations in the region.
We have provided support to hundreds of charitable organizations and have provided over $1 million in funds and over 200,000 pounds of food through our food reclamation program that feeds the homeless.
- Applicants must hold a current tax-exempt status under Section 501(c)3 of the Internal Revenue Code.
- Support must benefit the casino’s service area (90 minutes’ drive from the property).
- Organizations must submit an online application to be considered for funding.
- Applications may be submitted 90 days in advance of an event.
- Organizations will be notified of any decision via email. All funding decisions are final.
*Due to the state of Ohio’s stance on Responsible Gaming, we are unable to contribute to youth organizations.

A: Yes. We encourage funding requests that align with the areas of focus. However, funding requests for programs that work toward strengthening the local community will also be considered.
Q: Why are Promedica, Susan G. Komen, Toledo Zoo and Aquarium, Boys and Girls Club of Toledo, Destination Toledo and the Toledo Area Chamber of Commerce excluded from this program?
A: Hollywood Casino partners with these organizations in other ways and supports local programming through associate and customer fundraising or associate volunteerism.
Q: Can an organization request a product donation or gift card instead of funding through the community giving program?
A: Yes. Requests for in-kind donations (product and gift cards) can be made through the giving program process.
Q: If selected for funding, how do I receive my funds or in-kind gift?
A: If approved, checks will be mailed directly to the recipient organization at the address listed in the application. Please allow 2 to 4 weeks for delivery.
Q: If my organization has received funding through the PENN Entertainment Program, can I still apply for funding?
A: Yes. Organizations are eligible for consideration through local PENN Entertainment programs at the same time.
Q: Can I receive funding more than once per funding cycle?
A: No. Once you have received funding from Hollywood Casino Community Giving for this program, you are not eligible to reapply until the next fiscal year. The 2018 fiscal year begins Jan. 1, 2018 and ends Dec. 31, 2018. Please note that the application deadline is Nov. 30, 2017.
Q: How will I know if I have been selected to receive funding from this program?
A: You will receive an email notification once funding decisions have been made. The community giving manager may set the frequency and process in which application determinations are made.
Q: Who can I contact if I have questions about the status of my request?
A: If you have not been contacted after 90 days and have met the submission due date, please contact the Community Outreach Coordinator regarding your request.
